Martin Wild

Martin Wild’s tenure as Chair of the BGIA has earned widespread respect across the UK golfing community, thanks to his lifelong involvement in the sport, passion for the game and forward-thinking leadership. Known for his integrity, warmth and honest approach, Martin has held senior roles in leading golf companies and contributed to many of the industry’s successes.

Under his guidance, the BGIA has gained renewed energy and direction, with Martin championing initiatives that continue to shape a stronger, more unified future for British golf. Since Martin’s appointment four years ago, BGIA membership has reached record levels, reflecting the association’s growing strength and influence, while Martin continues to play a key role in driving initiatives to grow the game

Martin’s leadership has enabled the BGIA to significantly expand its influence through strategic collaborations. The BGIA’s unanimous admission into The GB&I Golf Forum marks a new chapter in the association’s journey, enhancing its role in shaping the future of the game. Additionally, the revitalisation of the Grow Golf initiative, supported by BGIA members, demonstrates a collective commitment to increasing participation.

Martin has also championed initiatives promoting diversity and youth engagement. The BGIA’s endorsement of the Women in Golf Awards highlights the growing recognition of women’s contributions to the game. Equally, the BGIA’s collaboration with the Golf Foundation to strengthen the pathway from schools to golf clubs – its biggest ever investment in growing the game – aims to build a sustainable future for the sport by nurturing young talent.
